There’s a misconception that Reading Retreats mean staying put the entire time, curled up indoors like a Victorian child with a fainting couch. Not quite. Most Reading Retreats blend exploration with generous downtime. Depending on our destination, we could wander historic towns and visit local wineries, or go ziplining and snorkeling before returning to a beautiful villa with a book when you’re ready.

Packing for a Reading Retreat is not like packing for a high-speed “see-10-cities-in-7-days” tour where you live in wrinkled clothes and snack on protein bars while running for the next train.

If your book club has ever daydreamed about sipping wine in Tuscany while debating which Little Women sister was truly the most relatable (spoiler: it’s still Jo), or lounging in a Parisian café while pretending you’re in an episode of Emily in Paris, then it’s time to take your stories off the page and into the world.

Traditionally, reading and traveling don’t mesh. One is a slow-paced, indoor activity while the other is a fast-paced, adventurous activity. But when you go on one of our reading retreats, you can soak in a new city and a new book at the same time.
