Is there a payment plan?
Yes! A $450 (USD) deposit secures your spot. The remaining balance is due [X] days before departure. Need more flexibility? Reach out, and we’re happy to chat.
What’s the difference between solo and double occupancy?
All retreats are based on double occupancy, meaning you'll share a room with another traveler (either two beds or a shared king, depending on location). If you’d prefer your own room, solo upgrades are available. See the trip page for pricing.
Do I have to share a room?
Nope! Solo rooms are available for an additional fee.
Can I come by myself, or do I need a roommate?
You can absolutely come by yourself! Most of our guests are solo female travelers. We’ll pair you with a roommate and introduce you virtually before the retreat if you'd like to connect in advance.
Is there an opportunity to meet the other travelers before the start of the retreat?
Yes! About 30 days before departure, we’ll start a WhatsApp group chat so everyone can connect, ask travel questions, and share excitement.
Am I responsible for my own flights?
Yes. You’ll book your own flights to/from the destination airport. We’ll provide guidance on arrival windows and best practices.
What is the typical age range of guests?
Most travelers are 40+, but we welcome women of all ages!
How do I decide between a Reading Retreat and a Slow Travel Retreat?
Great question! It depends on your style:

Reading Retreats are ideal for book lovers looking to unwind, read, and explore at a relaxed pace.

Slow Travel Retreats are a bit longer and include more activities for those who want cultural immersion with flexibility.
Are the Reading Retreats centered on a specific book?
No assigned reading here! But we do host a fun book exchange dinner on the first night—bring a favorite to trade.
Do I need to bring my own books if I attend a Reading Retreat?
Yes, please bring your current reads! You’ll also be able to swap with others during the trip.
Do I have to read?
Not at all. Even on Reading Retreats, your time is yours. Relax, explore, nap, or people-watch. No pressure.
What’s the food like?

Can I book a retreat for a private group or book club?
Definitely! We’d love to host your book club or group of friends. Reach out to contactus@slowtravelco.com to explore custom options.
How are the retreats structured?
Each retreat lasts 5–8 days. You’ll be picked up at the destination airport and taken to the retreat property. Daily schedules are flexible, with 1–2 optional activities and free time for rest or exploration. Group dinners are held each evening, and the rest of the night is yours.
What if I need to cancel my booking? What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations made 71 days or more prior to Retreat Departure will receive a full refund minus the deposit and any applicable transaction fees

Cancellations made 31 - 70 days before the Retreat start date will receive a 50%* refund minus the deposit and any applicable transaction fees.

Cancellations made within 30 days of the retreat start date are non-refundable.

Refunds will be processed within 10 days of receiving the cancellation request.
*Percentages listed above are of the total Retreat cost, not including the deposit. Listed cancellation fee is applicable per Customer.

Is airport transportation provided?
Yes! We offer group pick-up and drop-off at designated times. If your flight falls outside those windows, we’ll help you coordinate alternate transportation.
Are your venues accessible for wheelchair users?
Some are. Please contact us to discuss your accessibility needs. We’d love to help find the right retreat for you.
What should I pack?
Great question. Once your retreat is confirmed, we’ll send you a detailed packing list, including destination-specific weather tips.
