At Slow Travel Co., our mission is simple: to help women slow down, explore the world, and connect with like-minded travelers.
As an avid solo female traveler who’s explored all seven continents and over 32 countries, I know firsthand how transformative travel can be. But I also know how overwhelming it can feel to go it alone. That’s why I started Slow Travel Co. To create a space where women can experience travel as part of a like-minded group, immerse themselves in new destinations, and feel supported every step of the way.

Our reading retreats and slow travel experiences are designed with intentionality.
Each retreat is a chance to unplug, unwind, and embrace a pace that suits you. Whether it’s lounging in a sunlit nook with a favorite book, strolling through a quiet village, or savoring a locally made meal, our retreats celebrate the joy of moving through the world slowly. We prioritize micro-groups of 7–10 people to ensure meaningful connections without overwhelming social pressure.
But our retreats are more than just travel, they’re about community. We bring together women who love books, exploration, and curiosity. By fostering a welcoming environment for solo female travelers, we create opportunities for shared experiences, new friendships, and memories that last long after the trip ends. And because our approach centers on slow travel, attendees have the freedom to engage however they choose: join an excursion, read by the pool, or simply wander and soak it all in.
At Slow Travel Co., we believe travel should be mindful, immersive, and restorative.
Our reading retreats and slow travel experiences are crafted to help women reconnect with themselves, meet others who share their passions, and explore the world on their terms. For every woman who has dreamed of seeing the world without rushing, our retreats offer the perfect blend of adventure, community, and calm.
Discover your next journey with us and experience travel the Slow Travel Co. way.
Happy Travels,
Kayla J, Founder & Retreat Host
